Specific History

To construct a military road capable of carrying wagons and artillery across the steep mountain ridges of central Pennsylvania, the soldiers of the Forbes Expedition laboriously dug and pryed, cut and dragged. For most, the shovel and axe were far more familiar than the musket and bayonet.
