Oneida Leader Scarouyady
Caught between warring European powers, American Indian leaders anguished as they struggled to preserve their independence. Pittsburgh artist Robert Connell, who uses 18th century artistic techniques, painted this portrait of pro-British American Indian leader Scarouyady who fought with George Washington in 1754.
