Historic Winchester

Winchester, Virginia

Winchester, Virginia was the location of George Washington’s office and Abram’s Delight. It was from here that Washington commanded the Virginia Regiment based at Fort Loudoun. The "George Washington and the West" exhibit includes Washington's personal effects and surveying equipment. There are other interactive exhibits such as, the scale model of the town of Winchester (c. 1755). A bronze statue of "young" George Washington is also located on the museum grounds.
