Braddock's Field Historical Society and Museum

The present day community of Braddock was the location of one of the most famous battles of the French and Indian War---the Battle of the Monongahela, better known as Bradddock's Defeat. In addition to General Braddock, the famous Colonial figures who fought at that battle included George Washington, Thomas Gage, Horatio Gates, Daniel Morgan, Daniel Boone, Charles Lee, George Croghan, Charles Danglade and probably Chief Pontiac, in addition to Jean Daniel Dumas, "The Victor of the Monongahala". The French and Indian War Museum & Gallery are located in the first Carnegie Library built in the United States. The gallery features 45 works of art (originals and reproductions) depicting the battle and participants. There are also over 250 genuines artifacts from the Braddock Expedition on display.
