Senator John Heinz Pittsburgh Regional History Center

The Senator John Heinz Pittsburgh Regional History Center opened on April 28, 1996. Located in the city's historic Strip District, its home combines the former Chautauqua Lake Ice Company building with the new five-story Smithsonian wing. Devoted to the history and heritage of Western Pennsylvania, the History Center is a 210,000-square-foot museum and research facility.

Hours of Operation

The History Center's exhibits and Museum Shop are open daily from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The Library and Archives, located on the History Center's sixth floor, are open from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Thursday through Saturday. Other hours are by appointment.
