John McKinly's Grave Site in Delaware

Wilmington, Delaware

John McKinly served as a Major in a New Castle County militia during the French and Indian War. In 1757 he became the sheriff of New Castle County. He was elected as the first Governor of Delaware and the first Speaker of the House. John McKinly is buried in the Wilmington and Brandywine Cemetery in Wilmington, Delaware.
